Day 26

Thursday we went to Disneyland. We rode lots of rides, and Torsten rode his first roller coaster. We really liked the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the Snow White one, and Lexi loved the Haunted Mansion ride. We had great seats to see the first parade of the afternoon, and the kids really liked that. We ate lunch in Toontown and explored all of the parts of the park. It is the 60th anniversary of Disneyland, so they had a special night parade with lighted floats and a special fireworks display with scenes projected onto the castle. We didn’t have quite as good a view for the night parade and fireworks, but Lexi and Torsten had a great view of the back of people’s heads. Overall, we had a great day at Disneyland!

We hadn’t eaten dinner, so we stopped at In-n-Out Burger for a late night snack. Our burgers and fries were delicious at 11:30pm, and then we made it back to our wig wam for the night. The Wig Wam Motel is on historic Route 66. It was very kitschy and not in the best area, but the beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. It was definitely a unique experience!

  1. Caroline and I just looked through the pictures and named everybody. She is pronouncing Lexi ‘Pixie” these days. Good thing she’s too little to beg for Disneyland! Looks like you guys had a good time.

  2. When we lived in Texas it made sense to go to either park..either one would be quite the excursion and quite the expense. My husband, and my stepson had not been to a Disney Park so I voted we start with Disneyland, which we did the summer of 2014. It was amazing, it was magical, it was an experience I would never ever try to replace. This past spring we went to Disney World…I missed Disneyland so much. Loved this post, loved reading all the fun you had, what fun digs after!

Love In n out too, great pick!!! 😉 I wish we had it out here!
